Oil Change coupons

Here are some coupons for your next oil change. It’s a good idea to use a junk email address (not your personal one) and a kunya when signing up for coupon offers.

Jiffy Lube: Save $5 on an oil change (fill out form at website in order to print coupon)

Oil Can Henry’s: Save $10 on a 20-Point oil change. Plus, get a $20 Castor Rebate for up to $20 off on a future oil change at Oil Can Henry’s. Both offer Expire April 30.

Valvoline: Save $6 on any full-service oil change. Expires 5/31/11

Meinke: Save $4 and other various offers.

If you don’t see your oil changing company in the above list, search for its name + coupons in a search engine.  And you can always call your shop to ask if there are any current specials or offers.

Get those rainchecks

Get those rainchecks

I’ve had to get lots of rain checks at several different places lately. Rain checks are great. When a store is out of a product on sale, they promise that when they get more, you can have it at the advertised price. As long as you bring in a store-issued note (i.e. rain check). Rain checks have expiration dates. Be sure to keep up with those.

Here are some rain checks I’ve asked for in the last 2 weeks:

Fred Meyer
Challenge Butter $1.67 ea
Knudsens sparkling cider 99¢
Nalley Chili 4 for $1
Nestle chips 99¢

Rite Aid
Women’s cozy socks 50¢
Nivea tins 3 for 99¢

Walgreens
Coffeemate creamer bogo $2.49

I don’t mind it when a store is out of something as long as they offer rain checks. Sometimes, I prefer it that way!

Car rentals without credit cards

Car rentals without credit cards

I was listening to Market Place, an NPR show. They had a story today about a car rental company in New Jersey that offers car rentals without credit cards. The company is called Just 4 Wheels.

There are other car rental agencies that also offer no credit card rentals too. If I find any others, I’ll post it Inshallah. And if you know of any, please let us know.

Yes, You can Afford Organic Foods

Yes, You can Afford Organic Foods

Organic food is the best for us to eat. But it is expensive. Organic farmers work harder to make sure the crops are free of pests, and that the soil foods grow in is nutritionally rich.

I want to point out some of the sales this week where organic food for either the same price as, or even less than non-organic food.

And keep in mind, that most fruits and vegetable can be frozen at home.

Garage Sale (not Craigslist) Websites

Garage Sale (not Craigslist) Websites

Craigslist is a great site for finding yard sales. But did you know there are others?

This website, gsalr.com, let you find garage sales, yard and estate sales by map in your area.

Another website, Garage Sale Finder, has over 11 thousand garage sale listings for this weekend! Plus, if the sale has an ad on Craigslist, click it to see the CL listing.

Both of these have great map features whereas Craigslist does not.

Have fun with the two sites!

Websites that save you money: FatWallet

Websites that save you money: FatWallet

FatWallet.com

I’m sure you’ve heard of it. A friend’s college-aged child needed one of the fancy-smancy calculators that cost $150! They went to fatwallet, saw a coupon code, placed the order online and had it shipped to the store to save on shipping costs. Once they got the confirmation back that the product had been shipped (a few hours later), they then drove to the store a few miles away, paid for and picked up that calculator! They saved over $30!
